Causes 1: Pump Impeller Imbalance

Pump Impeller Imbalance is one of the key factors. When the impeller is unbalanced, One reason is impeller worn out, the other is impeller jammed, scale deposited. Therefore, The first important measure for fire pump vibration problems is descaling.

Cause 2: Misalignment of the Shaft

The practice has proved that when the fire pump and the motor shaft are operated at different centers, the vibration is large. Although the ideal concentricity between the fire pump and the motor shaft is not possible, it is one of the foundations for reducing the vibration of the fire pump as much as possible during installation. In addition, in order to reduce the vibration frequency during the operation of the fire pump, it is recommended to check whether the fire pump and the motor shaft are concentric before the fire pump is operated. Once this situation is found, adjust it immediately and align the fire pump with the motor shaft.

Cause 3: Bent Pump Shaft

There are many reasons for the bending of the fire pump shaft. For example, the strength of the shaft is not enough, the length to diameter ratio of the shaft is too large, resulting in insufficient rigidity of the shaft, or the distance between the support points of the shaft is too large, etc. If the fire pump shaft is bent, the new shaft should be replaced at the first time. On the one hand, it avoids the vibration of the fire pump operation, on the other hand, it reduces the occurrence of other faults.
